The Masters is one of professional golf's most watched tournaments every year due to its prestige and legacy. Players look forward to competing in this tournament every year because it is one of golf's majors, featuring the prized green jacket which is adorned to every year's winner. For golf's most premier players like Tiger Woods, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, and others, the Masters gives each player a renewed sense of focus and determination to become the first major winner each season.

Scottie Scheffler has officially won more PGA Tour events in the 2024 season than all of last season with his most recent and convincing win at the 2024 Masters tournament. With authority, Scottie Scheffler shot a tournament best -11 to bring home $3.6 million in prize money, yet another green jacket to add to his collection, and has now finished in the top 20 in every event that he's competed in so far this season. He has won 3 out of his last 4 events and finished T2 in the other. To say that he is absolutely dominating the sport would be an understatement because he is doing so much more than that - he's leading the sport with grace.
No matter the money, no matter the victories, and no matter how much pressure the outside world wants to inflict on Scottie Scheffler, this man is, to borrow from Stuart Scott, "cooler than the other side of the pillow". His calm confidence cannot be underestimated because his results speak volumes. I won't compare his dominance to that of Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan, but in 'The Last Dance', MJ said that his game did all his talking (we know he talked plenty). Scottie Scheffler is embodying what a graceful and talented athlete can look like, how calm confidence can be respected by critics, fans, colleagues, fellow players, and coaches. This man is on a terror this 2024 PGA Tour season, and he's doing it in the most respectful way one can. If you're not a fan of Scottie Scheffler, his game, the way he carries himself, and his mentality then you're just simply a hater and there's no room for you to comment on any aspect of this season.
Scottie Scheffler has won The PLAYERS Championship two years in a row, the Arnold Palmer Invitation in 2 out of the last 3 years, and The Masters in 2 out of the last 3 years. With his three PGA Tour wins so far this season, he has netted $12.1 million in prize money! This is already a historic run for Scottie Scheffler, and if he were to hang up his golf shoes for the rest of the season, we'd all have no choice but to call this year a resounding success. Thankfully for the sport of golf, for Scottie Scheffler, and for fans around the world, we will see him in the upcoming RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, South Carolina at Harbour Town. No matter his finish, we all take our hats off and offer Mr. Scheffler the standing ovation he deserves. Bravo young cat!
The 2024 Masters is one of the most accessible tournaments to watch based on the syndication and distribution of The Masters coverage across a variety of channels such as ESPN, CBD, Paramount+, and Masters.com. Viewers and golf fans can rest assured that there is a way to tap into this year's coverage and stay up to date on the latest groups.
Here is Friday's Masters schedule (EST):
My personal favorite way to tune in to the first 2 rounds of The Masters is via Masters.com. This year the website is offering "My Group" which enables spectators to create their own custom group to follow in each round so that you can follow your favorite players and those high on the leaderboard. Some of the other viewing options to check out include Amen Corner, Featured Groups, Broadcast, Holes 4, 5, & 6, Holes 15 & 16, and a Featured Group Plus option.
Once the weekend rounds begin you could consider purchasing an antenna to pick up your local CBS affiliate for the cost of the antenna, stream it using your TV provider's app or a connected device, or access the round via cable or set top box.

Friday's forecast in Augusta is expected to be the most challenging of any of the remaining days of the tournament. Winds are expected to be swirling, gusting, and growing in strength over the course of the day which presents a challenge for the back 9 and those midday and afternoon groups. Gusts are expected to grow to 20mph or more which could have an effect on scores going into the weekend.
Speaking of the weekend at The Masters, the weather is looking beautiful! This should mean that the players who make the cut will post statistically better scores going into championship Sunday than the first two rounds. Keep an eye out on the Masters leaderboard over the weekend because the weather will enable better scores, more movement on the leaderboard, and open up the tournament for anyone to steal the green jacket.
