Rory McIlroy Wins the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship for 25th Win

Rory McIlroy put together one heck of a performance in Charlotte this past weekend and beat Xander Schauffele by 5 strokes at Quail Hollow. This is Rory's 4th victory at the Wells Fargo Championship, and something felt different for Rory on Sunday's back 9 where he went absolutely berserk!
In 6 holes, Rory McIlroy went 6 under par with two eagles on the par 5 10th hole and par 5 15th. Granted, the double bogey on the final hole was not the finish that any of us expected. But even with a 6 on the final hole, Rory McIlroy finished with an impressive -6 (65) in the last round to secure his 25th win on the PGA Tour and his second of the 2024 PGA Tour season.
He's made 10 out of 10 cuts this year, has finished in the top 10 in 3 tournaments, and top 25 in 8 out of 10. Taking his second win of the year has him tied with his total season wins from his 2022-2023 PGA Tour season. And maybe this is anecdotal, but I feel like Rory has underachieved this year compared to his potential.
His average finish of 20th position in the Masters and THE PLAYERS can't be aligned with Rory's expectations of himself. Rory visualizes himself as the winner in every tournament he plays in and he puts the work in to get there. I can only imagine the zone that Rory finds himself in heading into the remaining major tournaments of the year. That dude is dialed, believe that!
All of this in the remainder of the 2024 PGA Tour season has me excited for golf - to watch, cover, and play. The parity of amazing talent in the sport is incredible. Soak it up, friends!
