How We Researched the Titleist SM7 Vokey Wedge

Our team is committed to bringing you objective, trustworthy, and fact-based reviews coming  from firsthand experiences. I was personally on a journey to find a new putter grip for a fantastic gift from my uncle - Bettinardi Mizuno BCS Black Carbon putter. Well alright uncle! Now I need to find a grip for this beautiful putter.

While selecting the best putter grip of 2023, I was examining a few key details for selecting the best putter grip: durability, high quality materials, and feel. Someone else on this same journey of finding a putter grip may prioritize other characteristics, details, and points of value. This game has players with a wide variety of preferences, and the following views represent mine as it relates to the best putter grip I personally used.

I considered over 50 putter grips before selecting my favorite and the best putter grip of 2023. I putted with several variations in size, brand, characteristics, details, and qualities. I swapped putters for grips and grips for putters. Needless to say, I held myself to a high standard for selecting my personal grip. It was a fun and insightful process since there are so many variations of putter grips that can serve a super wide variety of preferences.

The following grip, the WinnPro X Putter Grip is what I personally use with my Bettinardi putter. I absolutely love it and it is my selection for the Best Putter Grip in 2023.

Titleist SM7 Vokey Wedge: Our Guide to Costs, Design, Technology, and More!

Among the plethora of golf equipment brands, Titleist stands out as a beacon of quality and performance. Planet Divot is covering a plethora of Titleist clubs, equipment, and training and instruction facilities such as the Titleist Performance Institute. We recognize the commitment to quality from Titleist on a personal level, and so much so that I personally use Titleist equipment and clubs with the expectation of excellence. Every time, Titleist seems to deliver. In this post, we'll dive deep into one of Titleist's most sought-after products: the Titleist SM7 Vokey Wedge. We'll explore its costs, design, technology, and its popularity among PGA Tour players.

Introduction to Titleist Wedges & Vokey Wedges

Titleist, a brand synonymous with precision and performance, has been at the forefront of golf equipment innovation for decades. Their wedges, in particular, have garnered a reputation for being some of the best in the business. The Titleist Vokey wedge series, named after master craftsman Bob Vokey, epitomizes the brand's commitment to delivering top-tier products for golfers of all levels. Vokey joined Titleist in 1996, where he began specializing in wedges. Since then, Vokey wedges have become the most trusted and sought after wedges in golf. There is a very high degree of quality associated with Titleist and Vokey wedges.

Titleist SM7 Vokey Wedge Deep Dive

The SM7 Vokey wedge is not just another club; it's a testament to Titleist's dedication to improving players' short game.. Below, I would like to review the design, technology, and wedge grinds associated with the SM7 Vokey wedge:

Design: The SM7 boasts a distinct design that sets it apart. Its progressive center of gravity, which changes based on the loft of the wedge, ensures optimal distance and trajectory control. This design feature helps players achieve the desired ball flight and maximizes spin. I have felt so confident on approach shots and even mid-length pitches because the ball catches the green in a way that helps me maintain control.

Technology: One of the standout technological features of the Titleist SM7 Vokey wedge is its Spin Milled grooves. These grooves provide players with consistent spin, whether they're hitting from the fairway, rough, or sand. The Vokey sand wedge I use has the M grind described as "Vokey’s favorite, the M grind is designed for players that like to rotate the club face open and shut to manufacture shots around the green."

The SM7 also offers a variety of sole grinds. But what is grind on a wedge? Grind refers to the shaping of the sole of the wedge, and the SM7 offers options to suit various playing styles and course conditions. Titleist offers F, M, K, S, D, and L grinds.

Costs of the Titleist SM7 Vokey Wedge

Quality comes with a commensurate price, and the SM7 Vokey wedge is no exception. While prices can vary based on region and retailer, the Titleist SM7 Vokey wedge typically retails for around $150 to $200. It's a premium product, and its price reflects the advanced technology and design precision that goes into each wedge. For avid golfers and professionals, the investment is often justified by the performance enhancements the wedge offers. This is a wedge that I will keep for many years, take extremely good care of by cleaning the grooves regularly, and will be a staple in my golf bag.

PGA Tour Players and the SM7 Vokey Wedge

The true testament to the quality of any golf equipment is its adoption by professionals, and the SM7 Vokey wedge is a favorite among many PGA Tour players. These elite golfers demand the best tools for their trade, and the fact that many choose the SM7 speaks volumes about its performance.

Players such as Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Adam Scott have been spotted wielding the Titleist Vokey wedges, including the SM7, during tournaments. Their choice to use these wedges in high-stakes environments is a ringing endorsement of the product's quality and performance.

Conclusion: Is the Titleist SM7 Vokey Wedge Right for You?

Whether you're a weekend golfer looking to improve your short game or a budding professional seeking the best equipment, the Titleist SM7 Vokey wedge is worth considering. Its blend of innovative design, cutting-edge technology, and proven performance on the PGA Tour makes it one of the top wedges available today.
