SCHWARTZ

Lifelong Golfer, Founder of Planet Divot

Hello!

My name is Tony Schwartz and I am the Founder of Planet Divot. I started this website so that more golfers could have reliable, detailed, and hopefully insightful information about a sport and hobby that can very easily become a lifelong dedication.

My Golf Background

My grandfather instilled a deep sense of love for the game back when I was just 2 years old. He was a master carpenter and incredibly savvy with tools, so by the time I was 2 years old, I had my first golf club that he custom made for me. He helped build a golf course in my hometown in northwestern IL, and part of his contract was that he could bring a player with him for free and for life. I was lucky enough to be his +1 and, from there, the rest is history.

My Golf Profile

I played competitively in high school with a top 50 finish in the state finals. In present day, I'm a weekend golfer with a GHIN of approximately 7. The best part of my game is my iron play while my biggest downfall is the short game. I'm working on it! Part of the reason this site exists is so that I can continue this lifelong learning journey for golf and hopefully bestow any knowledge or insights that I find useful to anyone else who loves the game.

Thanks for being here!
