Where is the PGA Tour Championship Being Played?

The 2024 PGA Championship is being played at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY from May 16 - 19.

Xander Schauffele Wins 2024 PGA Championship

Securing 750 FedExCup points, $3.33M in winnings, and his first major win, Xander Schauffele is your 2024 PGA Championship winner with an impressive (-21) at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY.

Xander showed a familiar face when he started the PGA Championship out atop the leaderboard after the first 2 rounds, and he emerged at the end of the weekend a persistent and resilient champion, hoisting a very-well-earned first major victory of his career. One of the more impressive wins for Xander, he fired a 2nd best round of the tournament on Sunday to secure the victory. Only a few players had better rounds on Sunday, such as Bryson DeChambeau who has mounted a serious threat in recent tournaments and majors including The Masters. Nonetheless, Xander Schauffele now is a major winner, and with that door swinging open for him, we're predicting that Xander Schauffele has not made his last mark in golf's major tournaments.

Round 2 Wrap Report

The day started with one of the most unexpected headlines -- Scottie Scheffler has been arrested. Not one person in the world of golf saw something like this coming, so naturally we were all very interested to learn more. First reported by ESPN's Jeff Darlington who shot a video of the moment that Scottie Scheffler was put into handcuffs and sent to the station to be booked. It turns out that there was a fatal accident on the road leading to Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville which was disrupting the flow of traffic into the venue, including players looking to get to the practice facilities ahead of their tee times, including Scottie Scheffler. In what appears to have been a misunderstanding and miscommunication between Scottie Scheffler and Louisville Police Department, Scottie was not following the orders of the officer which led to the officer approaching Scottie's vehicle, pulling him out of the vehicle, and arresting him on multiple charges: second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic. The assault charge is a felony; the others are misdemeanors.

After warming up in his holding cell, Scottie Scheffler was released from jail to complete his second round of play at the 2024 PGA Championship. I cannot imagine being in his position and having to now go and compete in one of the most important tournaments of the year. How could he possibly play decent, let alone well? I have to admit that putting myself in his position, I can imagine losing all concentration, being anxious, and my execution on the golf course faltering. The good thing for Scottie Scheffler that he is not me -- he's the world #1 golfer. So he went out and carded a 66 in his 2nd round of play, which puts him in T4 heading into the weekend rounds. To say this is an impressive feat by Scottie is an understatement. This is an awe-inspiring performance given what transpired for him before the round began. This is peak competitiveness and elite execution. Scottie Scheffler deserves a few extra high fives out there in Louisville this weekend!

Carding a -3 (68) in his 2nd round of play, X. Schauffele has a one-stroke lead ahead of Colin Morikawa who played fantastically with a -6 (65) in round 2. Sahith Theegala came back with another strong performance in round 2 along with Bryson DeChambeau who round out the top 4 on the PGA Championship leaderboard.

Below is the PGA Championship leaderboard after round 2 of play. Stay tuned for our round 3 wrap report, PGA Championship leaderboard updates, and more heading into championship Sunday!

Round 1 Wrap Report

As of the end of the first round of play at the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, Xander Schauffele came out cooking up a storm with a -9 (62). This record-breaking performance by Xander which sets the all-time scoring record for the PGA Championship, and it tied the all-time low of any major round in history.

In a three-way-tie for 2nd, Tony Finau, Sahith Theegala, and Mark Hubbard all shot -6 (65). Colin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy, Tom Kim, and four others sit at -5 (66).

Scottie Scheffler holed out from the fairway on his very first hole for an eagle. Finishing his day at -4 (67), the world #1 is right there with the rest of the pack.

For the majority of the day in Louisville on Friday May 17 there is an approximate 50% chance of showers.
