We are witnessing a run of golf by Scottie Scheffler that is historic in that it's been nearly 40 years since a professional golfer on the PGA Tour has won 'the jackets' in back-to-back weeks at The Masters and RBC Heritage tournament. Not since Bernhard Langer in 1985 has another golfer accomplished this feat.
What's more is that Scottie Scheffler has posted a performance streak in the 2024 PGA Tour season that is jaw-dropping. In 50% of the events he's played in so far this golf season, Scottie Scheffler has either won or come in the runner-up position!
By doing so, Scottie Scheffler has earned $18.6 million in official money and he's done it with a calm and quiet confidence that makes him approachable, unassuming, and the most dangerous and dominant golfer on the PGA Tour. We're loving every minute of this historic run!
The storyline of Scheffler commanding a lead heading into the final round of any tournament has become redundant, but no less impressive as Scottie's name has become synonymous with 'the guy to catch' each and every week. In fact, now that the 2024 RBC Heritage has come to an end, Scottie Scheffler has won 4 out of his last 5 events on the PGA Tour and now has won 10 tournaments in his first 3 seasons.
This guy is catching steam, and he has
credited his mental clarity, maturity, and focus for hitting these marks. Golf is as much of a mental exercise as it is one revolving around repetitive and sound fundamental body mechanics. While we're all scratching our heads a little bit about the latter as it relates to Scottie Scheffler's swing mechanics (you've never seen footwork like this!), no one is in any position to doubt any aspects of his game at this or any point. Sure, every sport comes with the ever-present question of "What have you won for me lately?" but for those of us who can elevate out of the day-to-day microscopic analysis of every swing, shot, and performance, this will always be impressive and worth remembering.
After nightfall disrupted the end of the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island, SC on Sunday April 21st, play continued on Monday with Scottie Scheffler leading the pack yet again on a Sunday at -20. After finishing par-par-bogey to complete his 4th round and secure the 2024 RBC Heritage, Scottie Scheffler finished 3 shots ahead of S. Theegala who solely held the runner-up finish for the tournament. See below for the Top 5 finishes from the 2024 RBC Heritage.
Position | Player | Score | Rounds Completed |
---|---|---|---|
Champion | S. Scheffler | -19 | F |
2 | S. Theegala | -16 | F |
T3 | W. Clark | -15 | F |
T3 | P. Cantlay | -15 | F |
5 | J. Thomas | -14 | F |
So far in the 2024 season, Scottie Scheffler has earned
$18,693,235. He is expected to compete 20+ events in the 2024 season, which means that if he maintains his average earnings per event so far this season that Scottie Scheffler is projected to earn over $42 million in official prize money in the 2024 PGA Tour season. While aspirational and seemingly ridiculous...is it though?! Prepare yourselves for anything because this is some of the best golf I've ever witnessed!

Next up this PGA Tour season is the Zurich Classic held at TPC Louisiana from April 25 - 28, 2024 in Avondale, Louisiana. The format of the Zurich Classic is unique in that players are grouped in pairings with players like Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and others competing in best ball (Rounds 1 & 3) and alternate shot (Rounds 2 & 4) for the tournament. This tournament has top tier competition from players within the top 25 of the World Golf Rankings, a unique format, and players bringing a competitive focus to the fun at-hand. It's a must watch tournament for golf fans!
